The Sacramento County Bar Foundation
The Sacramento County Bar Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that serves as the charitable arm of the Sacramento County Bar Association. The Foundation’s mission is to support programs that improve the administration of justice, enhance public confidence in the legal profession, and cultivate an understanding of and respect for the rule of law. Consistent with its mission, the Foundation has historically provided financial support (in the form of grants) to non- profit organizations that have significant relationships to the Sacramento community and contribute to the quality and accessibility of justice, the honor and integrity of the legal profession, civic education.
Description of the Scholarship
In 2011, the Foundation accepted a generous endowment from the Sacramento County Bar Association for the purpose of establishing a scholarship. The scholarship is intended to assist law students who have demonstrated a commitment to improving the quality and accessibility of justice.
Amount of Scholarship
Up to $1,000
This scholarship is available to law students in good standing who currently attend one of the following Sacramento-area law schools: UC Davis School of Law, McGeorge Law School, or Lincoln Law School. Special consideration will be given to candidates who have worked for an organization that seeks to improve the quality and accessibility of justice in California and/or candidates who have accepted post-law school employment with an organization that seeks to improve the quality and accessibility of justice in California.
